I totally forgot that I have a test for my math class tomorrow lol. I was doing nothing the whole time and boom I just remembered. Haha next time it might be smart for me to actually use my 7 bucks student planner that I bought lolz >.>

Church Hunting

So Im catholic and I go to church every week but since Im not that familiar with San Jose area, I had trouble finding a church. Luckily google search helped me find a really close church by campus. Its called St. Patrick Proto-Catholic Church. The church is pretty old but that dont matter coz the feel inside it was good. The mass was filled with youth coz I went to the Young Adult Mass. It was pretty sick and I decided to get involved. People were nice, chill and even the priest jokes around after mass lol

THE VIEW FROM THE AUDIENCE

*At what point did you recognize that the speech would be unsatisfying?
He didn't prject his voice and his topic is not really interesting. He looks like he's not happy to be there.

*Did the speaker made any attempts to correct the failing outcome during the speech?
He tried but he ultimately failed still.

*How did you feel as you watched the speech flop?
I really tried to stay awake as a sign of respect but the speech was just long and boring.

*What advice could you have offered the speaker to turn the speech around?
Say an interesting story base from experience or observation and should have put more effort.

CHANGE A HABIT:
One really bad habit that I have that hurts my ability to manage my time is procrastinating. I would like to get rid of it because now that I'm in college, I need to stay on top of my work or else I would fail. To replace this bad habit of mine, I will commit to myself that I will do all my work if I do have the time and do productive things instead of just doing nothing. It might take me a while to change my system since Ive been a procrastinator for a long time but I can do this!!!!!!

Am I a procrastinator?
After taking the test "Are You a Procrastinator", I got the result of chronic procrastinator with 28 points. Before taking this test, I thought I would get a 30 or above because I think I procrastinate too much. This test made me realize that I should do my work if I do have the time so it doesn't pile up.

I learned alot.

Today was a nice class day for my MUSE class because I learned a lot of things from how to write a good essay to how to make a good speech. A good essay and good speech both share the same thing, in order for it to be good; practice, practice and practice is needed. In writing an essay I also learned that always cite properly if not, you may be accused of plagiarizing. For a speech, it is recommended to make an eye contact and refrain from stuttering. With what I learned today, I know I will do better whether its speech delivery or essay writing.

Sooo I was...

one of the players in a chess tournament here on campus. Usually when I play chess, I like to take my time but on this tourny, we had those lil stop watches which you press if you made a turn. Each player had 20 minutes to try their best and beat their opponent. Since the clock distracted me wayy too much, I had two very embarassing games in which both games I lost the same way! I felt soooooooooooooooo dumb and stupid. But anyways, I let that go and won a game! What matters the most is that I learned from my mistakes and I had a blast playing. <:O)

It is hard to cope into something new when you are used in doing your old routine. High school to College transition can be stressful. First you move in your stuff if you will live in the dorms, which I do now. Then the weather might be different from your old place. Back in SF its really cold, SJ is very hot. Other factors too can be classes, new place, etc..

Paul: He basically encouraged me to stay on top of everything especially my blog.
Ben: My roommate helped me know where my classes are located the day before the first day of school.

The aspect of college I need help on is knowing all the resources in campus I can use to my benefit. The people who can probably help me are the faculty/staff.

Computer skills I have are proficiency in using Microsoft Word and Powerpoint and I can type pretty fast. I would like to learn more about troubleshooting since its one of my computer weakness.

What are my interests?

One of the things that I do a lot, which I consider one of my hobbies is playing basketball. Basketball is my sport. I still play other sports but whenever I play ball, I get really excited and energized. I also like to play video games and hang out with friends and basically just chill. I am also big on community service. Helping people gives me a very warm feeling which I like a lot.

To the Library!

Two days ago we went to the King library to learn more about how the library works and how it can help us students academically. The meeting was in room 213. Room 213 is cool because there are laptops you can use everywhere. They also have those big HD TVs which you can write on. I forgot what they are called. But anyways, the speaker we had was good. He educated us on how to effectively use the school's library homepage. He explained to us that we never have to pay online to view articles since the school have access to article databases where students can have access to research papers and articles for free. I thought it was pretty neat and helpful. They also have connections with other public libraries in the Santa Clara County and even Nevada. You can even be text-mates with librarians!

In this first group sharing, we talked about how our first week here at SJSU went.

I had a fun first week here at SJSU. My classes went smoothly and I got used on how things work here pretty quick. I met alot of new people and I like seeing squirrels everywhere xD.

Jose got lost on his first day. I mean its alright since its the first day and he saw an old lady sleeping on the bus with gazillion stuff with her.

Michael's first week has been easy for him. He is always on time on his classes.

Adalberto know people already who goes to SJSU so it wasn't that hard for him to meet new people. His friends showed him around the campus.
