Chess

I really like playing chess. Chess is a very strategic and tactical game and you really need to think to win, thats what I like about it. I use to play every week before but I kind of stopped because of school work but I played again today and it was a great feeling. I like when I win in chess. It tells me that I outsmarted my opponent but sometimes I lose too. A loss helps me become a better player so its all good. Play me on chess and get beaten!

Studying

Studying can be really fun. I dont know but lately, Ive been having no problems with studying. Before I would complain why I need to study or be lazy and just procrastinate. Now I realize that studying is really important especially I am now in college. I really need to focus now or else I will fail and failure is not acceptable.

homecoming rally

I went to the Homecoming rally and I honestly thought it wasnt that great. I kinda had high expectations but the event was kinda boring. The fire entertainers were the only good ones and the others are ok. I left early because it got cold. The event was average.

football game

The football game was fun. The game that I went to was the one homecoming football game. The game was pretty slow at first but when it came close to the end, the game got much more intense. I thought we were going to win but the other school scored the touchdown. Unfortunately we didnt score and we lost. It was a fun game though nonetheless.

Computer Center

What a great resource! The computers are such a big help especially to those people who doesn't have their own laptops. I personally take advantage of the computer center and actually have done couple of papers in there. The library is a great place to study and with the addition of computers, its a one two success combo!

Break.

It was cool, nothing special. We dont really celebrate thanksgiving but my family still had fun. It was a relaxing weekend with lots of food. I like food, who doesnt? lol. Anyways, I had my very first Black Friday experience. Damn the line was sooo long its not even funny. It was raining too but it was all worth it since we got the stuff we wanted. Hope every had a great thanksgiving!

Very Satisfied

So I am in remedial math and the deal is you have to take 6 tests and a final in order to get the hold off remediation. I am happy because I am able to pass the first 5 tests which means that if I pass the last test, I basically passed the course! I am confident that I will pass the last test and after I pass the last test, I dont even need to worry about the final. WOOOOOOOO!Goodluck me :)

Chapter 12

The chapter talks about career choices and making the right decisions. It is very important to plan out which career path you may want to follow early on. By having a clear career path early on, it can save you a lot of time and also money in fact. Some guidelines on choosing a career is to pick something that you love to do and can see yourself doing for a long time. It is not all about money. It is more important to choose a career where you are passionate about. If you are unsure of what you want to do in life, there are plenty of resources around campus that can help you choose. Make sure you take advantage of these resources.

Peer Mentor and Senior Interviews

The interviews were pretty cool and interesting because we had the opportunity to learn more about how is it like as a Peer Mentor and being a senior in college. We did the senior interview first and we interviewed Matt. Matt majors in English and is an aspiring teacher and writer. What I learned from him is that it is highly recommended to get involved right away because it will definitely help you have a better college life. You can be either involved in Greek life or student clubs. It is also important that you know how to balance your social time and academics and work if you have one. After Matt, we interviewed Natalie and she is a Peer Mentor. I learned that being a Peer Mentor can be really beneficial because not only you get to help other people but also you gain experiences that will help you in life. You also know more people by becoming a Peer Mentor.

Chapter 11

The chapter talks about money. It is important to keep track of your money and learn how to manage it. Money doesn't just go from trees, you gotta earn it and work for it. You just don't want your money go to waste. A budget can help you learn more about your spendings and save you money in the long run. It is important to learn how to use money wisely because if you keep buying and you don't even need it, you will eventually get broke.

This guy is a legend. A hero among the Filipinos. His recent fight against Miguel Cotto proved everyone once again that he is the pound for pound champion of world. He is simply a beast. No one can stop him. I just cant wait for the Mayweather vs. Pacquiao fight. Floyd about to get his first loss. CODMWII

A lot of kids got this game already and I actually have it too back in SF. I mean gamers waited for years for this to come out and I dont know but for some reason, I didnt even try to play the game even though I had it o.O. I enjoyed people playing it though and it looks awesome. I suck in shooters anyways but i wanna get better and get those headshots lol.

Friday the 13th...

Ouch! I got injured on this day. I was playing basketball and went for the rebound when I landed on the foot of the opponent. I twisted my ankle and it FRIGGEN hurt! I mean it happened to me multiple times but I havent had any sprain for a while soo yeah. But thank god I am doing better now. No ankle injury last more than a day to me anyways. When you play ball just be ready to get injured I say ;P.

Rainy days

I used to like the rain but now I start to hate it because I dont like getting cold now and my pants getting wet. I dont like the feeling where the wet clothing touches my dry skin, its soo cold lol.

Evaluate your Sleep

In the last couple of days one thing is for sure, my sleep has been messed up lately. I dont know but for some reason I can't go to sleep whenever I want to. I usually can sleep right away but now I need to waste about an hour more staying up before I go to sleep. Even I am so tired I still can't sleep right away. And also sometimes, I oversleep and have to rush for the lost time. I want my old sleeping habit to come back.

Do I Abuse Drugs?

I took this test and for all the questions, my answer was no. It was all no because I don't smoke, drink or do drugs. Even though there are a lot of temptations in college, I managed to discipline myself and live a healthier life.

University Conversation thingy event

So a lot of the MUSE classes went to this event wherein the provost and the president talked about themselves and answered a couple of student questions. The meeting itself wasn't a meeting that I was expecting. It was less informative. I looked around and people were sleeping then they wake up when people are clapping then go back to sleep. It was funny. The best thing in the meeting though was the food. They were delicious.

Timed essays

Soo last Wednesday we had another timed essay for my English class. A lot of people hate them because you gotta work under time constraint and I hate it too. But as I do them more, I tend to like them more now because it will prepare me for the English finals. Timed essays will force your brain to think fast and put all the ideas together. They can be annoying but its all practice.

Editing

Editing video clips and combining them all to make one whole video can really take a long time. You do a lot of trimming, transitions, effects, audio and basically making sure everything goes in place. It really takes a lot of patience if you want the product crisp and clean. Hard work will definitely pay off and it can also be fun if you allow it to be.

Test Anxiety

The second MUSE workshop I went to is the Test Anxiety workshop. Here we talked about what is test anxiety, its causes, symptoms and how to prevent it. I learned a lot of new things about test anxiety. One thing that causes test anxiety is the lack of preparation. That is why it is never recommended to cram in the last minute. Also they advised that we should review our notes regularly so it will be fresh on our minds. Test anxiety can be dangerous that is why we should avoid it by getting a good night sleep the day before and by preparing.

Asian American Welcome

The first MUSE Workshop I went to is the Asian American Welcoming Meeting, something like that. We were introduced to the different Asian organizations around campus and other beneficial orgs as well. One that caught my eye was Akyaban. Since then Ive been involved with Akbyan and we do fun stuff all the time. I remember there was a Korean student who played Korean drums. It was entertaining. They also had Asian food and they were good. The meeting was fun and informative.

Oh nooooo

I was in Clark Hall doing a power point presentation then suddenly the power shortage went off. Then I was sooo mad and I started saying bad words. I waited for couple minutes and the power went back on. I checked my email and luckily I saved my thing :). Happy ending

Positive: I rarely get off track, I can get the group on track, I can share what I know and help in memorization

Daydream Believer

Sometimes it is inevitable to not daydream in class. There will be a reason to get you off track. some of the possible reasons are maybe the room is too hot or too cold. You have a problem. You can't understand what the teacher is saying or you saw a cute chick walking outside the class. One way to avoid daydreaming is whenever you come to class, you should not be hungry. Another is say in your mind that the information the teacher is giving you will help you later on.

Beginning: Boxer 1 walks through a vacant alley way. the setting is dark, gloomy, cold. Camera man focuses in on boxer walking and the location. There is a trainer leaning/sitting in a corner awaiting for Boxer 1 to walk by him. trainer is wearing dark clothes and looks suspious. Camera man zooms in on the look on trainers face.

Trainer: Hey Son, you interested in doing my a favor?

Boxer1: in a confronted way- what?

trainer: I need someone to help me win this battle. Its a rivial match.

Boxer1: what do i need to do?

trainer: just listen to my intructions. ill give you all the training you need to survive.

Boxer1: ahh...aight than.

Transitions to boxing training room.

trainer and boxer1 train crazy. camera man shows boxer running, lifting, doing polymetrics, eating right, etc.

Trainer: Push it son....Dont give up...

Boxer 1: in pain.

Transitions to official rivial match.

The lights and area. The music is intense. the roar of the crowd. Boxer one gets pumped up in the locker room. he puts on his gear and the trainer tells him your the chosen one. As the boxer one walks out to the ring, he sees his competitor.

Campus Movie Fest!

I actually have heard of this event a long time ago but I wasn't quite sure if I should go or not. But I made up my mind and I went to support the students of SJSU. I am really happy that I went because the event was awesome! Right when you get close to the location of the event, they made it feel like a real awards ceremony with those spotlights and the red carpet and the photographers. The auditorium was packed. A lot of people really looked forward for this event. There were a lot of really nice movies but some of them I didn't quite understand. The one I really liked was the "Top Of Her Class" video. It was so funny and the actors will really into it. I got interviewed to be on the paper which was pretty cool. I will definitely come back next year for more movies!

Another bathroom wierd experience

Sooo I really go to pee right so I went to the bathroom to pee. Then when I opened the door, I saw a girl inside the bathroom. Im like WTF! but this time it is 100% sure this was the Mens Bathroom. Whatever, I still peed then after that I washed my hands and I found out that they were filming a video on the bathroom. It was really wierd coz out of all places why the bathroom and then the girl inside the bathroom lol. xD

Video production project

Cool we finally have a video project and I was expecting a project like this when I signed up for the class so it was no problem for me. So what the project is about is groups will make their own videos and compete for views. Whoever gets the most views around December wins a prize. Each group should think a story where there should be a beginning, middle and end. Our story is going to be about two rival boxers making their way through the championship. We will also include a twist on the story. I believe that my group will do a good job as well as the other groups.

No Regrets

One important decision I made that was satisfying to me was my decision to come here in San Jose State. I originally wanted to go to a UC but due to other reasons, I chose to come here and so far I am really having a good time. In making decisions, I would say that always look at the bright side so the outcome will be better.

Last idk maybe Tuesday night, I went to SPX (Spartan Complex) to play some ball. But I really needed to go to the lil boys room so I went did my thing then I noticed someone was also in the bathroom.

I washed my hands then suddenly I looked in the mirror and I saw this girl smiling. I was like WTF is goin on! Then I went out after washing my hands then I looked at the sign in front of the door and guess what, yup I went to the Womens Bathroom.....BUT I swear that bathroom wasnt even the womens bathroom a week ago. It was a unisex bathroom. Then the unisex bathroom was beside the women bathroom. I was like ok..... wasnt the unisex bathroom suppose to be where the women bathroom is? lmfao

I totally forgot that I have a test for my math class tomorrow lol. I was doing nothing the whole time and boom I just remembered. Haha next time it might be smart for me to actually use my 7 bucks student planner that I bought lolz >.>

Church Hunting

So Im catholic and I go to church every week but since Im not that familiar with San Jose area, I had trouble finding a church. Luckily google search helped me find a really close church by campus. Its called St. Patrick Proto-Catholic Church. The church is pretty old but that dont matter coz the feel inside it was good. The mass was filled with youth coz I went to the Young Adult Mass. It was pretty sick and I decided to get involved. People were nice, chill and even the priest jokes around after mass lol

CHANGE A HABIT:
One really bad habit that I have that hurts my ability to manage my time is procrastinating. I would like to get rid of it because now that I'm in college, I need to stay on top of my work or else I would fail. To replace this bad habit of mine, I will commit to myself that I will do all my work if I do have the time and do productive things instead of just doing nothing. It might take me a while to change my system since Ive been a procrastinator for a long time but I can do this!!!!!!

Today was a nice class day for my MUSE class because I learned a lot of things from how to write a good essay to how to make a good speech. A good essay and good speech both share the same thing, in order for it to be good; practice, practice and practice is needed. In writing an essay I also learned that always cite properly if not, you may be accused of plagiarizing. For a speech, it is recommended to make an eye contact and refrain from stuttering. With what I learned today, I know I will do better whether its speech delivery or essay writing.

Sooo I was...

one of the players in a chess tournament here on campus. Usually when I play chess, I like to take my time but on this tourny, we had those lil stop watches which you press if you made a turn. Each player had 20 minutes to try their best and beat their opponent. Since the clock distracted me wayy too much, I had two very embarassing games in which both games I lost the same way! I felt soooooooooooooooo dumb and stupid. But anyways, I let that go and won a game! What matters the most is that I learned from my mistakes and I had a blast playing. <:O)

First you move in your stuff if you will live in the dorms, which I do now. Then the weather might be different from your old place. Back in SF its really cold, SJ is very hot. What are my interests?

One of the things that I do a lot, which I consider one of my hobbies is playing basketball. Basketball is my sport. I still play other sports but whenever I play ball, I get really excited and energized. I also like to play video games and hang out with friends and basically just chill. I am also big on community service. Helping people gives me a very warm feeling which I like a lot.

To the Library!

Two days ago we went to the King library to learn more about how the library works and how it can help us students academically. The meeting was in room 213. Room 213 is cool because there are laptops you can use everywhere. They also have those big HD TVs which you can write on. I forgot what they are called. But anyways, the speaker we had was good. He educated us on how to effectively use the school's library homepage. He explained to us that we never have to pay online to view articles since the school have access to article databases where students can have access to research papers and articles for free. I thought it was pretty neat and helpful. They also have connections with other public libraries in the Santa Clara County and even Nevada. You can even be text-mates with librarians!

In this first group sharing, we talked about how our first week here at SJSU went.

I had a fun first week here at SJSU. My classes went smoothly and I got used on how things work here pretty quick. I met alot of new people and I like seeing squirrels everywhere xD.

Jose got lost on his first day. I mean its alright since its the first day and he saw an old lady sleeping on the bus with gazillion stuff with her.

Michael's first week has been easy for him. He is always on time on his classes.

Adalberto know people already who goes to SJSU so it wasn't that hard for him to meet new people. His friends showed him around the campus.

Busy Tuesday

Alright last Tuesday, I went to the school's job fair...why? coz I want a job! Duh lol. A lot of people also wanted a job. Competition was on the air. I checked out everything on the fair, filled out some applications, and yea sweat under the burning sun. But yea it was cool, I just hope I would get a job so I can use my own money on school supplies, etc. If any of you people reading this post and have a job or know any job openings.. hook me up! My First Day in College

Sooooo my 1st class was 7:30 am and I had to make sure my alarm will work so I wont be late. Luckily I woke up on time and was able to grab me a quick breakfast. While I was walking to my 1st class, I was excited but nervous at the same time. I went to my classes and boom, I finished my 1st day wooo! I was hellllla tired right after my last class so I took a 3 hr sleep XD.
